Cognitive Conviction Therapy.

This document aims to describe and explain years of continuous research and argues why the Cognitive Conviction Therapy model works so well.

It also discusses our findings into the five main reasons why most people have difficulty in becoming anxiety-free again.

The method is developed for treating Irrational Anxiety only. 

Not OCD, Depression, PTSD, or ADHD as these diagnoses are very different from anxiety. Although they may show an effect in these, it is not tested and therefore pure speculation. Depression could be the best candidate as it also is about negative thinking.

We found that anxiety creates some issues that block anxiety freedom. 

1. Our beliefs in anxiety,

2. Our memories about anxiety,

3. The unpleasantness of anxiety,

4. The fear of anxiety, and

5. Our wording about anxiety. 

We will discuss all issues and argue why and how these issues block our anxiety freedom and then how to address these issues to enhance the probability of becoming anxiety-free via Cognitive Conviction and Belief Treatment.

Cognitive Conviction and Belief Treatment is intended as a supplement treatment to known treatments. However, it is a standalone treatment.

Our Finding.

By using this method (CCT) we were able to retrain the brain’s responses to anxiety by telling it I am not ill. This dis-alerts the brain over time because the method reduces anxiety thoughts as you become aware that you aren’t ill after all.

Implementing this method into an anxiety sufferer’s life will most likely remove issue nr 1. Our beliefs in anxiety. This will affect issues 2,3 and 4 because they are all connected. Issue 5 is a standalone issue.

Where Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, body, and behavior, known as the cognitive diamond. and involves helping patients identify, challenge, and modify their distorted thoughts and beliefs CCT focuses on the 5 listed issues, beliefs, memories, unpleasant feelings, fear, and wording to illustrate the connection and mutual influence between the elements that create recurring anxiety. Which is the main problem.

Instead of trying to identify, challenge, and modify distorted thoughts and beliefs CCT aims to eliminate anxiety thoughts and beliefs.

Identifying, challenging, and modifying thoughts and beliefs don’t solve the anxiety problem. You still think about anxiety afterward. But eliminating them does. That’s why we propose this effective new way of understanding and treating Irrational Anxiety.

It is very easy to test and confirm our findings. All that is required is a poster and our free booklet explaining the method and the Why, when, and how. All tests can be supervised online.

This method demands only one thing from the patient. The willingness to try it. It is done at home, without medication or therapy. And it’s free of cost. No healthcare professionals are involved after implementing the method. After the test period, a Questionnaire is answered to access the results.

Introduction 

You probably heard of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), MCT (Metacognitive Therapy), and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).

But have you also heard of CCT (Cognitive Conviction Therapy)? 

Probably not. The reason is likely that the treatment doesn’t use medication or therapy. But a poster. A poster hanging in the home. This also makes it the only free-of-charge anxiety treatment and can therefore be used by all anxiety sufferers no matter of diagnosis, past or present treatment, and financial situations.

The method came into light after several years of research into why no known treatment had an effect on the author, in his 40 years as an anxiety sufferer. What was missing? What was overlooked? Was anything misunderstood or misinterpreted from the known anxiety knowledge? Or was I so special that nothing could help me?

The goal was to develop an effective treatment option that is accessible to all people. We succeeded in 2018. The treatment option is intended as a supplement method to the known treatment options if they were to show minimal or no effect for an individual. It’s not a replacement treatment for known treatments. 

Our method is simple, free of medication and psychotherapies, yet very effective in letting anxiety go for one simple reason. 

The method eliminates the fear of anxiety and thereby the illness belief and conviction that anxiety creates over time.

As a private initiative that offers free-of-charge services, we don’t have the finances nor the know-how to conduct extensive studies or tests. Therefore we can’t show any public data and European GDPR laws forbid us to share our private data. Therefore the method is not science, evidence-proven, or tested on groups. 

The method, in short, uses our brain’s capability to learn new beliefs by repetition and rational thinking about anxiety. A very strong cocktail. You could say a light form of positive self-brainwashing.

We recognize all the effective treatment options out there. But what’s the point in having effective treatment options that most people can’t afford or aren’t widely available like CBT, MCT, or psychology hours?

Instead, most people start treatment on the next best. Cheap medication. Experiencing all the side effects of different medications with little effect we believe that there has to be another way without side effects and negative impact on an individual’s life from treatment and better recovery procents.

That was our motivation to think out of the box and come up with our supplement treatment method. To address irrational anxiety effectively we need a treatment that is available to all sufferers at a very low cost and with very limited to non-physical or psychological side effects.

We also believe it is difficult to treat something that we don’t fully know why happened.? But that is quite normal in anxiety treatment where the unpleasant feeling and not the cause is treated.. 

Most people don’t know why they experienced the first anxiety symptoms or attack. 

Because that is not in focus when we seek the doctor for help. The focus is almost always on how we can avoid more of that unpleasant anxiety feeling. Not the cause. Which would be the right thing to examine first? The problem here is that there isn’t time or resources for a full investigation at the doctors. Hence the medication.

CCT treatment method should never be the first choice treatment option but a supplement to the known treatment options.

Our treatment method, at this time, is designed to come into play after some time with anxiety. Meaning after you got a diagnosis and tried medication for some time without the effect you hoped for. Then it’s time to implement the poster treatment method in the comfort of the sufferer’s home. 

When or if that time comes we want you to do a test in your home to find out if this method is right for you. Does it resonate with you?

As always. An anxiety treatment starts with you, and your belief in it. Medication, therapy. Otherwise, it won’t work. Users must be mind-motivated to try this treatment. It can be combined and performed in parallel with all other treatments.

Who is a candidate to implement this treatment?

  • Anyone who had limited or no effect from known treatment methods.
  • Anyone who simply wants to be more positive in everyday life.
  • Anyone who doubts or is skeptical of the effectiveness of this treatment method.

 Why should you try this method?

Because it gives you renewed hope. And we really need that as anxiety sufferers. It gives hope in the same way that medication or other treatment gives hope when you start up. You go into treatment because you hope it works. Hope drives us to continue the treatment and possibly test new treatments.

The goal of this treatment method is to stop anxiety from developing into a disorder.

So when will we know if it works?  When is hope fulfilled?

Only you can decide that.

  • If from the start you think it won’t work, well, it probably won’t.
  • If you think it sounds like a good idea to try, chances are it will work.
  • If you think I believe it will work, then you will also find that it probably works. Maybe more for some than others, but you will feel an effect.

As with all anxiety treatments, however, there is no guarantee. Maybe you still experience anxiety symptoms after 6 or 12 months after implementing this method, but by that time you know that you are no longer ill. It makes all the difference.

At that time, you are just anxiety-challenged, and that is something else entirely.

It is always better to have anxiety without being sick than being sick.
