How to get your pension or some time off, with a fake anxiety diagnosis.
The goal is to highlight the flaws in the anxiety-as-illness model and show how easy it is to fake your way into receiving a disability pension.
The truth is that anyone can fake an anxiety diagnosis because it isn’t a disease, but a symptom-based diagnosis. Symptoms are not the same as a disease. No one would contradict you if you went to the doctor and claimed to have anxiety.
It is important to understand that it is not the doctor who decides if you have anxiety; it is you, as the doctor cannot measure or test for anxiety. Everything is based on what YOU tell the doctor. If you say that you have experienced anxiety symptoms, you have anxiety.
There can be many reasons for doing so. Most people do it to get a break from work. I know many who use it just to get a few extra weeks of vacation.
To understand why it is possible and what anxiety symptoms really are, you can read my book: The Logic of Anxiety.
